2015 Acura TLX
It Feels Like Luxury
Car buyers who appreciate luxury are anxious to get their hands on the 2015 Acura TLX, and as Providence, Rhode Island’s official Acura dealer we are more than happy to oblige. As the new 2015 models start to roll out, many Acura enthusiasts have been wondering what Acura would do. After the TL and TSX lines were discontinued, Acura had to come out with something that would knock people’s socks off. Acura has long been known for making some of the best luxury cars in the industry and this time, Acura has hit a homerun.
When driving in the streets of Rhode Island, Acura drivers are used to is a vehicle that feels like a BMW, but does not come with the prohibitive price tag. One of the issues that some people had with the TSX and the TL models was that they were either too small or too big. For the TLX, Acura has done some modifications and taken almost a full inch of width off of each side of the vehicle. That allows for luxury, but it also makes the car easier to handle.
As an Acura Dealer, we’re happy to see that Acura listened to consumers about the way the previous models were made. The TLX uses a mix of materials that is lighter, but more durable than previous models. The makeup of the TLX body is only 47 percent steel, which makes this model so much nimble in its handling.
The TLX Has The Power
Another concern that Acura dealers had was that Acura may sacrifice power to keep the vehicle priced reasonably. But that is not the case at all. Once again, the Rhode Island luxury car fans will be happy to hear that the TLX has either a 2.4-liter engine with direct fuel injection or a 3.5-liter iVTEC. The difference between the 2015 Acura TLX and some of its closest competitors is the genius of its engineering. The TLX has an 11.6:1 compression ratio and Acura’s dual-stage intake manifold to guarantee maximum performance.
As with most high performance luxury vehicles you should only use premium fuel in the 2015 Acura TLX. The trade-off for using that premium fuel is an amazing 206 horsepower and 182 lb-ft of torque. Throw in 6800 rpm and you have a luxury car that knows how to get where it is going in a hurry. As with the previous Acura models, the ride is smooth, but the power is undeniable.
Acura Engineering Is On Display
If you’re an Acura driver, you expect industry leading engineering and the 2015 Acura TLX is not going to disappoint. The engine is attached to an eight-speed dual-clutch automatic that makes the ride very smooth and, of course, fuel efficient.
When you hear about an eight-speed dual-clutch automatic, your first thought may be about the whiplash effects that have been present in previous high-performance engines that have used a system like this. But with the TLX, it is nothing but smooth sailing. Acura has managed to give drivers all of that power, but without the uncomfortable neck pain that comes with the sudden jolts. This is a car that takes luxury seriously, and that means attending to every detail.
All Of The Reliable Features Are Here
The TLX family includes the 2.4-liter base or a 3.5-liter iVTEC which creates a total of 260 horsepower with its V6. The variable cylinder management system that Acura owners have grown accustomed to is also here and helping to improve fuel economy by utilizing only three cylinders as soon as the vehicle gets into a comfortable cruising speed.
It wouldn’t be an Acura without a few more features to go along with that eight-speed dual-automatic clutch. Acura wants to create the most efficient and comfortable ride possible, that is why it created Sequential SportShift. This feature is new, but it comes from an old Acura adage that demands maximum performance from every aspect of a vehicle. It is the kind of engineering that preserves gas mileage, helps to extend the life of the transmission, and offer the smoothest ride possible.
Ready For New England Weather
Whether you live in Boston MA or Providence RI, the winter weather has not always been agreeable with luxury cars. For luxury car drivers in the New England who want to be able to drive their new 2015 Acura TLX all winter long, Acura has created a solution for you.
Acura’s ingenious engineering is enhanced by the Super Handling All Wheel Drive as the lighter vehicle allows the All Wheel Drive to send more torque to the rear wheels and improve bad weather performance. When you come in to First Acura to see the TLX, be sure to ask us about the Super Handling All Wheel Drive upgrade so you can enjoy your Acura no matter what the weather brings.
The Interior Adds To The Luxury
The bold exterior of the TLX is in sharp contrast to the soft and accommodating interior. The seats are made from a comfortable but durable material and they sit nicely with the faux wood paneling around the dash and doors.
The stereo is a 490-watt powerhouse with a 10-speaker system. The TLX comes with DriverAssist as well as a wide variety of other safety features. Not only will the Acura TLX get you to where you need to go in style, but it will also make sure that you are safe during your journey.
Acura fans have waited to see how Acura would follow up the TL and TSX models. The result is the amazingly efficient, comfortable, and luxurious 2015 Acura TLX. It has all of the latest engineering achievements you would expect from Acura, plus a lot of surprises that go a long way towards making this the luxury vehicle that Providence, RI car buyers will want to have in their driveway the moment this vehicle hits the Acura dealership lots.
